What to Expect
Ok great! You have done the hardest part; found a photographer that has the style you are looking for, an awesome portfolio, and is as excited about capturing your memories as you are. Once you contact me about a session I will get back with you about details for what you are looking for out of your session. Is this a celebration for a first birthday, a rainbow baby, a Mother's day gift, a family reunion? We will go over what is it your are looking for in regards to location and timing of your session. I have a number of location that I shoot at in the greater St. Louis area and all have their own beautiful landscape. We will decide which location (or new location) will work best for what your are envisioning. Next we will decide on a date and get you down on the calendar. From there you will receive an invoice and contract to finalize the details. I will also send over my style guide recommendations and a link to my client closet. That's right I have a large selection of beautiful gowns and skirts for women as well as children's clothing that both fits with my style and photographs well and they are all free to use with your session. I will be there to help you choose your outfits so that you don't have to stress about coordinating vs. matching and color pallets. I also provide lists of my favorite vendors to get some great items for your wardrobe.
When the day of the session approaches I will be in contact again and we will make sure weather won't be an issue and if so we will work together on a solution. If the shoot is a "go" I will get your phone number so that on the day of the shoot I can give specific information on where exactly to meet me within the park/area as that may change based on the season, foliage, or sometimes other photographers/visitors to the area. We will meet, I will get to know your kiddos (if applicable) so that they feel comfortable with me and then we have some fun. We will always start with the pretty smiles at the camera and then we get into the snuggles, jokes, dancing, etc that gets those raw emotions you just want to remember forever. Sessions typically last between 30 to to 60 minutes depending on the weather and ages of children.
Now the session is over and it went great! Next, I will get permission to provide a "sneak peek" for you on my social media platforms and then I will cull through your images and provide you with a soft proof gallery to choose your final images from. You will "favorite" the ones that just melt your heart and then let me know when you are finished. I will then do full professional editing on those images and then you will receive the high resolution digital images with the ability to download and share your final gallery. From your final gallery you can order beautiful prints for your wall or mantel, cards for special occasions, or gifts for the grandparents all printed from a professional lab. I will be there along the way to help you with any questions you may have and help capture those memories for generations to enjoy.
